The application form for the Youth and Democracy Fund is used to apply for funding for projects that involve young people in democratic processes. It records project details, applicants and budget to verify eligibility. When evaluating applications, the Awarding Commission asks itself the following questions:Is the organization/project not profit-oriented? Is the majority of the organization/project aimed at people under 30? Is the organization/project clearly committed to democracy? Does the organization/project contribute anything to the political education of young people? Does the organization/project contribute to the participation of young people in public life and politics? Does the organization/project promote a non-polarizing discussion culture and broad-based compromises? Is the organization/project committed to an open Switzerland and a cosmopolitan, liberal society? Is the organization/project difficult to finance elsewhere? Does the project have a certain reach? Does the project have a lasting impact? Is the project scalable in principle and could be implemented for many more participants? Does the concern meet the needs of young people? Was it formulated by young people themselves? Not all projects that are funded meet all of these points, but funded projects very often meet many of these points.
