On March 11th, 2026, our partner Expert Forum organized a public event with journalist and writer Anne Applebaum in Bucharest. The event drew a large crowd and was widely reported on television and in the press. Anne Applebaum referred to EFOR’s research report ‘Three decades of civil society – the ups and downs of promoting democracy in Romania’ and made it clear how important civic society and civic space is, where communities can care more about their society.
