Conference

One of the aims of the Democracy Foundation Basel is the transfer of university knowledge to a wide audience. A concrete consequence of this is the launch, in September 2025 and with the support of the Foundation, the 'Conférence ScienceSPO platform' by the leading French university of political sciences.
The aim of this platform, which is available on the Internet under the following link. What can be achieved is to make findings from teaching and research available to a wider audience in a generally understandable form. The platform offers articles, videos, interviews, data and specialist publications in French and English on five subject areas: Europe, the environment, democracy, AI and conflicts.
SciencePo and its historic core, the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, has 90,000 alumni (including 5 of the last 8 state presidents and — by 2024 — 15 of France's last 24 prime ministers) and 15,000 students, 50% of whom are now international students. It is embedded in a dense network of international research collaborations and ranks first among all universities in the EU and fourth worldwide in the QS University Rankings 2025 in the subject of politics. The Democracy Foundation Basel is a member of Conférence ScienceSpo's Strategic Council, which accompanies and supervises this project.
